Description

In recent years, the San Pedro Celebration has become one of the greatest pilgrimages of the municipality.
San Pedro Church was built on the initiative of some locals and with donations from residents of Espinho and Matosinhos. Opened in 1942, it was blessed by the Reverend Father Amadeu de Vasconcelos. Every year, on June 29, the fishing village celebrates its patron saint.
The Parade of the Rusgas to San Pedro, the recreation of Xávega Art, with the use of oxen and the Majestic Procession, which walks along the main city arteries after leaving the Chapel, are the highlights of this festival, which attracts many people to Espinho.
A lot of music and festivals are the impious component of this celebration, once again dedicated to the struggles made to survive in the sea.
