Costs and Currency

Currency: € (Euro)

Exchange rates: made in banks. The city of Espinho has a wide network of banking institutions, with ATMs available inside and outside the bank.

VAT Refund: visitors residing in countries that do not belong to the European Union can get a VAT (Value Added Tax) refund on purchases made and carried in their personal luggage. Only individuals can access this refund.
When you make your purchases you should ask for a declaration in the store, which details the amount paid, the goods purchased and the amount that can be refunded. The refund can be obtained in cash at major European airports or centers in major European cities, or via credit card, or international check, as long as the goods are previously shown to customs.

Entry and Exit Formalities

Passports and visas: Citizens of the European Union, Andorra, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Malta, Norway and Switzerland need only their identity card to enter Portugal. If they are minors, in addition to the identity card, they must also present parental authorization to travel.

For stays of up to 90 days, visitors from Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Barbados, Bermuda, Bolivia, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, Chile, South Korea, Costa Rica, Croatia, Salvador United States, Guatemala, Honduras, Israel, Japan, Macedonia, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mexico, Monaco, Montenegro, Nicaragua, New Zealand, Panama, Paraguay, Saint Kitts and Nevis, San Marino, Serbia, Seychelles, Singapore, Uruguay, Vatican, Venezuela and Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions of the People's Republic of China.

Citizens from States not mentioned above require a visa to enter Portugal, which may be requested from the Portuguese Consulate or Embassy in the respective country, for stays of up to 90 days.

Under the terms of the Convention Implementing the Schengen Agreements, passengers with origin or destination in another Schengen state, understood as an internal flight, do not need a new visa.

Complaints Book: All suppliers of goods and service providers are required to hold a Complaints Book and provide it to users upon request. When the complaints book is not immediately available to the user, the latter may request the presence of the police authority to resolve the difficulty.
The complaint is formulated by filling out the complaint sheet (Complaints Book), in which the customer describes clearly and completely the facts that motivate it and inserts the elements related to its identification.
After filling in the complaint sheet, the supplier of the good / service provider has the obligation to send it to the competent market control entity or the regulatory entity of the sector, within five working days and deliver the duplicate of the complaint to the user, keeping the triplicate in its possession, which is an integral part of the complaints book and cannot be removed from it.
It may also send the duplicate of the complaint sheet to the competent market control entity or the regulatory entity of the sector, indicated in the respective sign posted in the establishment.

Se déplacer dans Espinho

The orthogonal grid characteristic of the city, allows easy and autonomous circulation on foot. With numbered streets it becomes easy for the visitor to locate himself at the moment, being the even streets parallel to the sea and the odd ones perpendicular to the sea.

Cab
They work 24h/day and are available on Rua 19, next to Largo da Câmara, and on Avenida 8, next to the Espinho Casino, duly signaled and can be requested by phone.
All cabs have a taximeter, which shows the final amount to be paid, being compulsory the issuing of a receipt for the service rendered.
The information about fares is displayed on the rear door windows, on the left side of the vehicle.

Rent-a-Car
The rental of vehicles can be done in FasRent and Ecomobile.

For this purpose it is usually required: driving license, Identity card/citizen card or passport and credit card.

Bicycling:
Espinho's network of bike paths covers several points in the region, being a good alternative to get to know it. Espinho has a flat terrain, which makes bicycling easy and safe. The city has bicycle rental services, as is the case of "HotBike", located at 450, street 23.
